Winchester Ramblers is part of the national Ramblers organisation — the UK's biggest walking charity.
We are a friendly and active group with a comprehensive programme of over 300 walks a year and a lively social programme. Our walks take place on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays, ranging from gentle 2.5-mile strolls to more challenging 12-mile days out.
We walk all over Hampshire — and regularly venture beyond:
Winchester and surroundings — the historic city and its chalk downland
South Downs — England's newest National Park, on our doorstep
Itchen Valley — tracing the famous chalk stream from source to sea
Test Valley — through water meadows, thatched villages and drove roads
New Forest — ancient woodland, ponies and open heathland
Further afield — Berkshire, Dorset and Wiltshire
Walk Schedule:
All walks are led by experienced, trained walk leaders. New walkers are welcome to join us for up to three walks free before we ask that you join the Ramblers.
Walking is just the start. Winchester Ramblers has an active social calendar — including:
